“Flipped” : If a rainbow, meet above know

Some live in tall buildings, some in deep trenches; Some are naked, some are rusty. Thousands of kinds of world, floating clouds don’t go to seek; If a rainbow, meet above know.

After seeing the movie version two or three times, I came across “Flipped” in the bookstore, paid for it immediately, took it home, and read it almost in one sitting, feeling relieved, amused, and thinking.

Movies can give us a very intuitive feeling, but reading this book, the text gives me more imagination space, as well as thinking space. Most of the time, reading a novel, we can only feel the development of the story from the heart of a hero, the activities of the characters. And “Flipped” respectively from the girl Julianna and boy Bryce two aspects to explain the development of the story and direction. We can feel the growth and change of the two characters more.

I loved their meeting. From the very beginning, I could feel that Julie was a passionate and brave girl. When her mother told her that a boy her age would be moving in across the street, she couldn’t wait. That longing comes through in the lines, and it’s easy to understand why Julie didn’t take the hint and insisted on helping her neighbor carry. The seven-year-old girl was just desperate to play with Bryce.

She said: ‘The first day I met Bryce I had a crush on him. Well, actually it was love at first sight because of his eyes.”

But!

“My biggest wish in life was to keep Julianna away from me,” he says. “She not only invaded my life, but she did everything she could to claim her place.”

Julie fell in love with Bryce, starting with those eyes, and for the first time in her life, she felt like the whole world was rolling around you, inside out, and you were floating in the air, and the only thing holding you back was those eyes. Yes, the seven-year-old girl fell in love, she even waited for Bryce’s first kiss, she started to stick to her crush like a gummy candy, which Bryce thought was a bit annoying, but I did fall in love with this brave and cool girl.

If I had a girl like Julianna around, I would want to be good friends with her. She is romantic, stubborn and adventurous. She has a healthy body and soul and down-to-earth ability to realize her dreams.

She climbed up the tall FIG tree and took in all the beauty. That feeling, far from the ground, being blown by the wind, is like your heart being hit by beauty. The tree is a symbol of perseverance. When the FIG tree is faced with being cut down, Julie, who resolutely defends the tree, is also resolute. She is different and dares to be different.

She floats chicks at the tech show and takes care of each chick with love. When the hens began to lay, the neighbor offered to buy eggs from her, and she generously and persistently continued to deliver them to the Bryce family for two more years. The first time she felt the benefits of hens, our lovely Julie kissed each hen, she felt in control of her own destiny, full of power, right and firm.

She does her own yard for the sake of family harmony. To support her mentally retarded uncle, her family conditions are not good. In the face of Bryce’s mockery of her own yard, she did not blame her parents for not bringing better conditions for the children, but neither humble nor arrogant, to change a clean and tidy yard.

She is a girl with independent personality. When she finds her sweetheart is not like what she thought, he is cowardly and does not care about her dignity. She stayed away bravely. Deep in her heart, she knows that she is just like the budding grass, not strong enough to help others tread on, but she has been on the way to strong.

Her father played a key role in Julie’s development. When her father discovers that Julie is obsessed with Bryce, he reminds her that she needs to look up at the world and teach her that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. When the FIG tree was cut down, he painted a picture and gave his daughter a tree in her heart forever. He is kind and responsible. Although it costs money to make the family poor, he still insists on taking care of his disabled brother. The father taught his children that poverty was nothing to be afraid of, and that they should live in a loving home. They have dreams, they work hard and they are determined.

Bryce must be a handsome boy, so Julie fell in love with him at first sight, and girls like Shirley fell in love with him.

Perhaps a boy, who always matures later, doesn’t do as much work as Julie does, and doesn’t know as much about people and things as Julie does. However, the nature of Bryce is still good, he grew up to realize his shortcomings, cowardice, and began to have the courage to correct.

In fact, Bryce’s first bad impression of Julie is understandable. If there is a person always pestering you, and constantly sniffing you, maybe you will be a little disgusted. Of course, Bryce is still young, and he doesn’t know how to appreciate a really smart girl. She was always the first to raise her hand in class, always turned in her homework early, did a lot of it, and was afraid she wasn’t perfect, he said. He finds this annoying, but he doesn’t see the effort and ambition of the other person.

When Bryce threw the eggs Julie sent into the trash can again and again, I looked down on this boy, he so let down others’ good intentions, do not accept so bravely tell each other, in this way to solve how unbearable. I was even more disappointed when he wanted to fight back against his classmates’ mockery of Uncle Julie in the library, but had to agree because of cowardice. Fortunately, Bryce is still young, and he has a chance to grow and change. Fortunately, he has a neighbor named Julie.

His grandfather played a key role in Bryce’s growth and transformation. While Julie was guarding the FIG tree, he told Bryce that the girl was a rainbow. Faced with Bryce’s father’s rude taunts at Julie’s family, he fights back. Grandpa led by example and helped Julie with yard work. He told Bryce to look beneath the surface. Some people are shallow, some are just plain, but someday, you’ll meet someone gorgeous who makes you feel like everyone you’ve ever met is just floating around.

Fortunately, however, Bryce later realized his mistake. Feelings are so naughty, when she jumped around him, he shrugged. By the time he realized he could not take his eyes off her, she was graceful, confident, and beautiful as a goddess.

“Flipped” is an open-ended ending that leaves much to the reader’s imagination. There are a lot of things that could have happened between Julie and Bryce, but one thing we can be sure of is that Julie would have lived a wonderful life with or without Bryce. In addition to showing a wonderful story, the significance of “Flipped” for readers is more about the later growth. Just like what the author wrote in the last part of the book, to build the future that you believe will make your life more happy. Maybe it will make you feel difficult and painful, but you will eventually grow up in life. You’ve already accomplished so much more than spending time thinking about what you’re going to do or why you’re doing it.

Later, a little girl let us understand again that love is to have their own independent personality, with their own charm to conquer each other. If we only seek happiness from others instead of from ourselves, true love will elude us.

Finally, conclude with the author’s words. I hope you can appreciate nature, and your neighbors; May the new sun shine through the clouds over you; And more importantly, may you find the love that shines.
